The Squawck bird, mid-squawck

Privacy Policy

Squawck for Android · Last updated 30 August 2026

Squawck has no server, no account, and no analytics. The version on Google Play holds no internet permission at all, so the app is not able to send your information anywhere — not to us, not to anyone. This policy is short because there is very little to describe.

What Squawck collects

Nothing. We operate no servers and receive no data from the app. We cannot see your messages, your contacts, who you text, or how often you use Squawck, because none of it is ever transmitted to us.

What stays on your phone

Squawck keeps the following in a private database on your device, readable only by the app:

This never leaves your device.

Permissions, and why

Squawck requests no internet, camera, location, storage, or microphone permission. One further entry may appear in the listing: view network connections, added automatically by Google's billing library. It reports whether the phone is online and cannot transmit anything. Without the internet permission, no part of the app can open a network connection at all.

You can verify the complete list on the Google Play listing under “App permissions”.

Replies

Replies arrive in your normal Messages app, from your recipients to you. Squawck never sees them. It has no permission to read incoming messages and contains no code that could.

Deleting your data

Settings → Purge lets you delete your Flocks, your Squawcks, or everything, in one tap. Deleted data is removed from Squawck immediately. Because your phone keeps its storage encrypted, the leftover data is unreadable to anyone without your lock screen, and the phone overwrites it in the background over time — the same way any deleted file works. There is no cloud copy to delete, because there is no cloud.

Uninstalling Squawck removes everything it stored. Text messages you have already sent live on your recipients' phones and in your carrier's records, like any text; Squawck cannot reach those.

Children

Squawck is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information from anyone, of any age.

Payments

Squawck offers a one-time purchase that unlocks saving Flocks and Squawcks. The purchase is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your payment details; Squawck only asks Google whether the purchase exists.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
